Sorry, that pic sort of dark, this is better. Thanks Swan, I'll look him up. Yes, big vintage analog guy here. That's an Akai GX-266D. It sounds great through my McRack! Here is another pair of old boots, no tags, but I'm guessing Tony Lamas. They are small for me, but I love the look of 'Em. Any info anybody can supply will be appreciated!

I doubt TL. At least that just doesn’t seem their style. If a production boot, maybe Justin.

Back in the day, one could order modifications to a production boot.
Pictures of any numbers or letters inside shaft will help, I see some numbers peaking out.
Pix of sole, plus wooden or steel pegs?

Probably a custom.

Black looks like alligator to me.
Two tone is sea turtle, with all the different shaped and sized scales unless it is embossed.

McRack? Is that a stack of McIntosh gear?

akai made very good RTR at a great price point

Any thoughts between these two? Never worn a smaller shaft, but not opposed.

Anybody have a recommendation for commissioning a pair of bespoke boots? I really don’t want to wait 4 years for Lee Miller, but I am not sure where to turn. I prefer very classic masculine styles.
@DWFII or bust imo. And full Wellington.

Assuming they both properly fit you, which toe do you like better?

I strongly prefer the toe of the left boot, but the shaft height would be a deal breaker for me. Have you worn a boot with a shaft that short? I have, and I regret buying that pair every time I put them on.

That shop looks well stocked, I’d keep looking.

Those look a lot like vintage Rios of Mercedes to me...

I prefer the French toe to the clipped. Never have worn short cowboy boots but wear Chelsea and Chukka boots all the time.

Mystery Boots
Thanks for your interest Swan, and Bbob. Sorry for my delay, Busy is good! Here are some better pics of the shaft numbers, and bottoms. No other markings, or tags. 4750 is unfortunately for me the size. They do make a nice display boot.
Yes Swan, I'm a big fan of large Blue Meters, several McIntosh amps here. Steady, and fine!
Thanks in advance to any history on these nice old boots!

7.5D is the size on the smaller boot, first number is width....ABCD....1234....4=D....Might be a Womens boot.

11D on the other

I've seen more custom boots with hand written numbers not stamped, but a production boot would have a Logo somewhere, I would think.

So, I'm at the end of my help on these. I still guess custom.

Mc30's, C22 here, for a long time.

Those Justins are beauties. I am not a fan of the raised apron myself, but they look great here. Those are almost museum pieces, but it would be a shame not to wear them!
