    Hello again gents,

To cut straight to the chase, I'm on the hunt for a traditional covert coat - short, in a fawn/light tan-colored covert twill.

According to the nice people at Cordings, there's one available for me, in my size, in their store right now. It'll set me back the princely sum of £465 (less VAT for being a filthy colonial...), which is just out of my price range for the moment.

Has anyone seen a similar beast anywhere else on the Web? I recall Renwick posted a comparable model from Merc, but I was somewhat hesitant to buy, given it's odd tobacco color.

Should I just hold out and buy the real deal when I can, or does someone know of a less expensive substitute?

    Thanks,

    Nick.

Crombie also makes a good one. Origional Crombie coats show up on ebay for very good prices.

    Good idea.

Incidentally, do you have any photos of your Merc coat you could post?

    Thanks,

    Nick.
