are there concealers or other types of cover-ups for guys? I have a blemish from a recent pimple smack dab in the middle of my face and would like to hide it for a date...

What about the risk of it rubbing off on her if she touches your face, and she notices?

Concealer is concealer for the most part, if you have a trustworthy female friend she can probably help you find something and show you how to use it. Or just go to a counter at a Sephora or department store. I use it from time to time, it helps me not be so paranoid about my blemish, and also encourages me not to touch it or pop it too early, causing it to get bigger.
