Could you help me learn about my new (used) AEs?

Has anyone soaked their socks/sox/stockings in Lexol and conditioned their used shews from the inside out?

it is. I bet a bit too abrasive, though. anyway, I think they cleaned up pretty well. once I removed the caked-on polish I found a pretty large scuff on the left toe. I'm not sure if I can hide it with some colored shoe cream or if AE can get rid of it if I send the shoes in to be recrafted.

I would send them in for a recraft, if nothing else you can break-in the soles again afterwards.

I've got to say, I don't think these look like corrected grain. The creasing isn't fine enough and the finish doesn't look plasticky to my eye. I'll bet AE recrafting would do a nice job with these.

lightly used, actually. the soles are fine. the uppers show some scuffs and wear that didn't come across as significantly in the pictures. you can definitely tell these have been worn for quite a while. they're not awful, they just need a little bit of color correction. I am wearing them today for the first time and they're, unfortunately, a bit too narrow for my feet

This is good news as now you know that you are at least a D width on the AE #5 last.

Wear them a few more times & I bet they adjust to your feet (as long as there's no pain)
