I have a navy Aquascutum sportsjacket (95% cotton/5% cashmere) that is relatively heavy weight, and wondered if it was acceptable to wear it in the winter months or whether it should be reserved for spring/summer only. Any thoughts?

Unlike linen, I see no reason not to wear a relatively heavy cotton coat in the winter. Or certainly the spring fall.

I simply view my cotton jackets as a bit more casual than wool or other high end fabrics.

Those cotton cashmere blends can be pretty heavy, so I think you can wear it. And it's navy, so there's no worry about colors. Enjoy!

I have a 55% coton 45% wool sportscoat which feels like a heavy tweed and is definitely wornable in winter.
