I am not a normal reader or contributor to this thread. I went into Saks last week and saw some Corthay in the leather for the first time in years though. My aesthetic is quite different, I’m sort of a Church’s Consul, vintage Florsheim 93605 cordovan LWB kind of guy.

But I really admire Corthay for having a distinct, coherent, design (and color way) philosophy that they execute in a consistently high quality way. The menswear world is the better for having this kind of variety.

Cool interview with Pierre Corthay

Enjoyed the interview with M. Corthay! His English is very strong.

Always liked Corthay shoes, but the price point was high for me for RTW shoes. I'm more into the Vass price point for a new shoe (maybe $400-$500 a pair on sale). Could never stomach $1500-2000 a pair.

Well...last week I walked into a Saks off Fifth outlet and was thrilled to find a pair of black Arca Twin (double-monks) with white piping and red lining (a Saks makeup I believe)...in my size...with Corthay trees...on clearance for $389.

So I tried them on for fit - excellent - and ran to the counter to pay.

I do love a shopping bargain, and this one ranks well up there for me!

For whoever is interested, I just bought out a local Corthay sale and am flipping it all on eBay. Let me know if a pair catches your fancy...
