Is this an OK combo. If so, cordovan belt?

OP: Do you mean cordovan as in the color or the material? Either way is fine, but they're different questions (color matching vs. material choice).

BTW I see no reason the belt must be shell cordovan if the shoes are - but if the shoes are burgundy, the belt should match.

There is no reason you can't wear the 2 together.

I'm doing it today, but I think cigar/anything in the brown shell family looks better with khaki than burgundy/#8 shell

I agree, and yesterday wore cigar shells with my chinos.

One exception: this is NOT an OK combo if you wear the pants on your torso and the shoes on your hands.

Wear it with a seersucker, madras, or ocbd shirt and surcingle or ring ribbon belt and you're off to Tradville. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

My dweeby obnoxious roommate at Andover used to wear that combination, pressed chinoes and his cordovan shoes back in the 60's(I guess he thought he looked cool lol). The guy was a real asshole with a severe case of acne. He was always polishing his dopey looking cordovan moccasins until one day I got so annoyed that when he was out I went down to the stables and got some horse manure and stuffed it into his shoes. You should have seen the look on his face when he put them on. He knew something didn't feel right and when he took them off to see what was the problem he howled like a stick pig lol OK I shouldn't make fun of him because he was killed in VN. They say his own men shot him in the back haha
