For the first time i tried using saphir mirror gloss. It is not working out.
ive used other brand wax before. It works fine and easy. For some reason this saphir mirror gloss isnt working out even after watching videos.
The coats dont seem to layer.
what i did is, i would get some water on the cloth, rub mirror gloss in and apply on the leather.
I spent so many hrs and failed fml. The petty layers would crumble. When it doesnt crumble, id get smooth surface but no shine at all

I’m still new with cordovan and shoe care in general, but it’s must easier and faster to mirror shine the toes compared to calf skin. Even with no water, or cotton cloth. Thin layers and a goat hair brush brings out a shine that is sufficient for me.

Are you putting a drop of water on the cloth or the shoe? Try thinner layers. As mentioned, it easier for me thinking that Shell is much easier to fill without much texture or pores to fill in like a calf skin.

edit: Also wipe gently, don’t rub hard with pressure.

I just read that you put water on the cloth. Try it with a drop or two of water on the toe instead. I tend just to shine the very tip and gradually fade to the rest of the toe. It takes me 5 minutes tops for each shoe with the outcome pics shown below. Not a true mirror shine but enough for my taste.
