Copying a Linen Jacket

Dear All,

I am looking to have my favourite, but now much-battered and worn linen jacket (bought off the peg) copied exactly by a tailor somewhere where I can post the jacket to them, they would make the copy/ies and then send the lot back to me (preferably having sent me some swatches of cloth beforehand).

Seeing that the original jacket was not expensive and that a copy wouldn't need to be canvassed or have working cuffs or any of the usual accoutrements I would want from a suit, I am hoping that somewhere there is a tailor that can do this pretty cheaply.

A friend was recently in Hong Kong and took the jacket with him to ask around, but the median price quoted was $300+ which to be honest is about three times what I would expect to pay (based on nothing in particular and possibly wrongly) for this kind of a job.

Can any kind soul out there recommend me somewhere I could expact to have the jacket copied at a reasonably price and with the resulting garment being reasonable quality?

Many thanks for any pointers in the right direction.

G.

You won't find anyone who can do it for $100, which is what it sounds like you're asking.
