Any opinions on Coppley Apparel? I received an invitation to a MTM event at Mark Shale this week. I've been thinking about going the MTM route for the first time lately and my only options locally are BB, Hart Schaffner Marx at a Famous Barr, and maybe some higher end stuff at smaller shops. I talked to my sales guy and he claimed MTM suits start at $695 based on fabric choice. Sounds like BB is right around that price point, so any opinions on the two head to head? www.coppley.com ... but I didnt find much info on their MTM offerings. Anyone?

I have two MTM suits by Coppley and two pair of trousers.  I can't wear suits OTR, so I needed something quick.  For entry level MTM, I have no complaints.  The $695 is probably the cheaper fabric they offer.  If I were you, I would spend a few extra bucks and get nicer the better fabric they offer.  They offer functioning button holes and all of the other bells and whistles.  Turnaround was like 7 to 10 working days.

Edit: Ask the sales rep if they have any Coppley suits that haven't been picked up by the customer.  This may give you a good idea of what you are jumping into.

Coppley is a good suit.

When I bought MTM under Alan Flusser label, two types of suits were offered. The first was a fully fused suit. It's the less expensive suit. If you can afford the step-up in price, go for the semi canvas front. It's much softer and is a better garment.

If you are considering the MTM by Martin Greenfield at Brooks, then that is a whole different beast. It's a full canvas front with much more hand tailoring.

I have no experience with Coppley MTM, but I do have a pair of RTW Coppley slacks that I bought at Harry Rosen two years ago. They're nicely made and the fabric has a fine hand; but most importantly, they fit me better than any other slacks in my closet. Everytime I wear them my wife comments on how great they look.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortuneately, changes at work kept me away. Hopefully I can make the next MTM event. It certainly sounds promising.

I've had a lot of luck in Hamilton finding Coppley trousers, just thrifted a beautiful wool taupe. I own quite a few coppley's and I am 100% happy with every pant I have, why spend more on Incotex is what I am starting to wonder..
