I've already messaged asking for a buy now but no luck [IMG]

I'm not really in a position to bid at that price this month so you should be good to go [IMG]

[IMG] He poasted your question - you need some moar game if you want them to end it man!

Q: Hi any chance of adding a buy now on these? Thanks very much! Stephen.
A: Hello. Thanks for your interest but I would prefer to let this auction run. You are most welcome to bid. Thanks again and best of luck.

Would it be heresy to say that I find them rather fugly?

Years ago someone used Ask Seller a Question to ask me something like 'is it really genuine X brand? btw please don't put this question in the listing as I'd prefer others didn't know'.

[IMG] Will do. I saw them before they got posted here, and when they did, I too, figured they'd go too high. Threw a bid a the list minute expecting to get outbid, but surprisingly won them.

You were lucky my snipe failed for technical issues too bizarre to elaborate...[IMG] [IMG]

The questions are flooding in on those Kitons. Seller does not want to reveal the reserve. I've never really understood that.

I've never understood reserves - puts me off an auction more than questionable feedback. Start at the minimum price you'll accept. I was watching a (no reserve, 99p start) auction until a couple of days ago, and on the 2nd last day, the fairly experienced seller put up a message complaining that bids were low and if they don't significantly rise before the last day, she'll cancel all bids and end the auction and sell the item through a specialist dealer. She was true to her word - auction ended 24hrs early.

Another antiques specialist keeps listing their stock on Ebay with 99c starting prices, all items with reserves. All items are bidded up heavily, but out of maybe 100 items ending in the last 2 weeks (most being relistings), fewer than 10 passed the reserve. They just keep relisting. Waste of time and I've taken them off my Ebay search results (discovering you could remove specific sellers from search results was great).

Starting at 99 cents attracts attention and encourages early bidding. Early bidding can sometimes lead to bidding wars, netting the seller more money. Even without a bidding war, the potential of getting the item really cheap will attract more buyers. And if the item goes from really cheap to only reasonable, most buyers will even rationalize to themselves: "Oh well, I'll bid just a little more. I would have paid this much anyway."

Starting at your lowest acceptable bid will often times result in a single bid winner, since no bidding war was started. Then the seller is left selling the item at only his lowest acceptable price. Starting at these prices also generally creates a mentality in the buyer that it may be a good price, but there's no reason to bid until the end, then they forget.
