1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I never saw FAM marked with US size did you? As others said usually they are way big. I got some amazing FAM monks on eBay once labelled 11 assuming UK 11 and they would have fitted a US 13.5 plus

From what I can tell, they look legit. On the one FAM I was able to zoom into the inner lining, it listed the UK size which the FAM I own also list.

I've been watching that seller for a while but never pulled the trigger. I can't figure out what size I would be. I'm pretty consistently a UK 9 (C&J, AS, Sutor Mantellassi), US 10 (Alden Barrie, AE 5 last, AS for Brooks Brothers, C&J for Polo), or a 9.5 in mocassin types that stretch (Rancourt, Oakstreet). I was thinking 42.5?

it really depends on the last. but the bad news is that santoni has so many lasts....

i'm in US 6.5 generally, but for santoni, i usually in 5 (dress shoe and boot) and 4.5 (loafer)

Playboy has more articles than nude women. The articles are usually better quality, too.

That's as maybe, but what has it got to do with what this thread is about? I just don't get why you even felt the need to post it here. What's next? National Geographic? Reader's Digest?

Playboy has articles about clothing, cars, and other stuff people on this forum find interesting, including current events and interviews with notable people. They publish fiction; here's a short list of people they published in the past: Joseph Heller, Jack Kerouac, Roald Dahl, Ray Bradbury, and Kurt Vonnegut. If I'd found the Paris Review for $5/year, I'd have posted the deal, too. Unlike GQ or esquire, Playboy isn't discounted often. Deals on books have been posted in the past without anyone being hassled, so "I just don't get why you even felt the need" to elect yourself as hall monitor. If you find my post inappropriate, report it and let a moderator decide what to do with it.

I know all about the literary history of Playboy, thanks. But that wasn't my (very small) original point, which was very simply about where the right place for this is. I wasn't looking for an argument, or moderation or anything like that. So, do whatever you like...
