I was looking through the BBQ guy's other auctions. Sells a lot of McD's collectibles.

This one brought back (frightening) memories. I remember being terrified by these commercials.

Always reminded me of a Klansman.

Seems I'm not alone. From the Youtube comments.

This motherfucker terrified me as a child...I hope he died of a painful heart attack from all that McDonalds he promoted...

Anyone else remember this creepy character?

Did it sell or did he just end the auction because he was overwhelmed with offers from forumites looking to yank his chain? It states "listing ended" not "sold" so I think he just ended it or it ended without a "winner." No way someone paid $10K for barbecue sauce that is so old it is likely unusable.

I messaged him and he said it did indeed sell for that amount.

Somewhat believable. People go crazy over MJ memoribilia. CRAZY. Like "give-me-your-shoes-or-I-shoot-you-crazy."

And there are some serious collectors out there.

Okay, I stand corrected, apparently, there is someone dumb enough to buy 20-year-old barbecue sauce that will give you food poisoning if you try and eat it!

There's always someone dumb enough. Even the slightest exposure to #menswear should be all the proof you need to agree.
