    Presumably those shoes were made by the same cobbler at the same time:

    Not only did she wear eye shadow, tail coat and top hat, but, as can be seen here, she was also fond of the opposite. Those robust “Trachten” shoes were made for the German Hollywood-Diva in Salzburg, where she spent five summer months, in the company of her family and her then lover Douglas Fairbanks junior.

    "Ralph" Ralph Lauren is a line that I think is licensed and is exclusive to Dillards.
    Quality is better than "Lauren" but nowhere near Polo or RLPL.



    I've seen people here claim that the Polo suits with blue tags that read "Ralph Lauren" in script are the precursor to Purple Label but I really, really doubt that.
    For one, Purple label is like 17 years old and those blue script logo tags are way more recent than that.

    I've also had blue script logo pants with "polo" buttons on them.

    I think the script label stuff is nice (I try to keep my eye out for it because it's wearable, unlike alot of old Polo stuff that's become really dated) but I really doubt it's somehow on par with purple label quality.

    Just to add the blue label stuff with "RALPH LAUREN" on it is signature line stuff, a cut above PRL and some have put it on par with RLPL, as would I.

    I wouldn't, I might put it on par with the italian made polo stuff.
