RLPL alligator card case. New. BIN $190. If I didn't already have four Ebay card cases in storage, this would be long gone. Even so, I'm still tempted, which causes me to list it here. Somebody buy it before I give in to temptation.

Brooks LHS in what looks like (but is not described as) shell. Size 9C. $20 opening bid. Interesting that they have an all-leather heel, rather than the usual combination heel. Anyone know about this? http://cgi.ebay.com/Brooks-Brothers-...item3a64c9ceb4

    They're old.

This is a PSA of sorts. I picked these up, and they will be going back to the seller. He's paying shipping both ways, since he's basically a scammer.

It turns out they are the same mismatched pair I bought back in October, sold by the same seller (real name is Gabriel Laine) using a different username (at the time, suisdemidieu . . . now le_ratatouille) . The left shoe is actually 9.5C and the right is 9D. I only know that because I saw them the first time around, when they were sold a size 9D. Since then, the seller literally sanded off the size markings from the inside of the right shoe. So he's a fraud, these are going back to him, and I am certain he will relist, probably under a different username. So caveat emptor if another pair of these older, nails-only heel Brooks LHS in size ~9-9.5 pops up over the next few months from a DC-area seller.

Good detective work! How were you able to get him to refund your money and pay shipping? And given this, ebay won't do anything to stop him from selling?

Well, it's not really detective work. I just got sold the same pair of shoes twice. Shame on me the second time, I suppose, but I didn't want someone else to receive that pair and not know that the unmarked-size shoe is actually smaller than other shoe.

He refunded my purchase price and shipping both ways the first time, and said he'd do it again. If he doesn't I'll escalate things, but as-is I'm out of pocket nothing with minimal hassle. Not sure what eBay would do, but I don't have time to pursue this on moral grounds.

Sorry that happened to you. I think I bought them the first time they went up for sale and sent them back.

Well, A Birkin, not THE first Birkin, owned by Jane. Pretty cool though, I think the tPf members are scrambling their savings accounts right now [IMG]
