I cannot tell if that is an EG or Grenson oval on the inside of the shoe with measurements listed or just wishful thinking . . . could just be wear on the inside of the shoe. I thought EG made shoes for Dunhill ages ago and more recently C&J - no bids with 10 hours to go, might go for peanuts.

Also, its unclear if this is US or UK 11.5

They are C&J ...I have a pair of black wingtips FWIW.

I finally broke down and bought a monkstrap. Got a pretty sweet deal if I say so myself.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1156

$250 for brand new C&J Monkton (albeit seconds, but can't figure out why)

Anyway, I wear a size 12US (usually) and these are a 12.5 US so if they don't work out I will sell them to whoever wants them for my cost plus $10 for shipping.

I'm not a shell cordovan guy, I'm not even sure if "cordovan horsehide" is the same thing but here are a nice pair of vintage Cole Haan captoes. Shell seems to go for a pretty penny so I suppose if it is, then $199.00 is a decent price . . .
