Thank you @FlyingMonkey I will check these out. I'm trying to find a pair of sconces that are A. not ugly, B. wired with an on/off switch, and C. small -- which is turning out to be really difficult.
With most older european light-fittings, you might have trouble getting a registered electrician to fit them because many aren't approved to US standards. It's not that they aren't safe, just that would never have been tested for sale in the USA. So you'd either have to do it yourself or find an electrician who won't mind.

You might check out Angela Adams. DWR used to carry their stuff, but you could go direct and save money. Plus, they'll cut a rug in half and bind it to create two runners if you want.I've been leaning pretty Scandi for lack of any talent at this interior design thing and in the interest of checking boxes quicker. I just picked this up for my bedroom.
I'll need a larger rug (5 x 8 or so) for the living room, for which I'm leaning similarly neutral, but i'm open to fUn iDeAs™.
