You just have one kid, right?

lefty

Yeah, just the one. 20 months old now, and he is very much king of the castle. The foam tiles just act as his "anything goes" territory for playing. crayons stay inside there, etc. But I have to admit I've grown to really love lounging around on colorful foam tiles myself.. Highly recommended.

@conceptual 4est you are "spot on" as far as ideas for a statement chair with with personality for my space. It is the ideal spot for us to add a touch of playful style and color to our minimal neutral home.

Good to hear! Seems like a fun opportunity.

We have a pair of Selig chaise lounges that I bought 13 yrs ago and have just been storing since. The dream was to put them in a reading room with a nice view. Maybe someday that will happen, but I'm also wondering if I should sell them, and if so, what the best way would be. The easiest would probably be to call a local vintage shop who might be able to pick them up. Do you guys have any ideas? Is demand strong now? They're in great shape, with the original cushion covers. But they need new straps, cushions, and some repair to the covers. Straps on that should be super easy to replace--looks like it used clip ends that fit in the slot (rather than dowels+friction)

No shame in going with more modern poly webbing instead of the pirelli straps too...they won't dry rot like the old webbing.
Don't buy it from that site though...you can get 40' for $20 (and randomly...2 free bamboo utensils):

I had a roll I'd offer send you, but I'm pretty sure I got rid of it...had like 30 feet left.

Should be able to find the clips that fit the chair pretty cheap as well. Maybe these?
Or maybe different ones if it is cut at a 45 degree angle.

I’m looking to refinish a Selig chair and haven’t been able to find information on the type wood for the chair. I’ve read anywhere from walnut, teak, or beach wood. Would you happen to know the type of wood for the Selig chair?

Should I stain the chair a lighter color or stick with the typical mid century modern color?

Pretty cool that Interior Define is now doing custom benches (I know, I know, I'm always shilling for them...)

The lead times across the furniture industry right now are pretty wild though. Everywhere we go, we get 20-30 weeks lead times for anything

$.02 that looks like beech
I don't know what mine are made of, but when I was reading posts on some other forum, someone mentioned that some Selig chair was probably made of beech. Imo, beech sounds right for ours as they don't seem heavy enough to be walnut or teak.

Thank you, I just started the stripping process today. Hopefully this is an easy project to turn around in a few weeks.

Can anyone speak to the quality of furniture from Industry West (https://www.industrywest.com)?

This shows a lot of commitment to a very particular aesthetic.

They had me at the caps lock for the description, but I put in a 30% over asking price when I found out they have a 10 line phone system in the house.

I'm going to outbid you. I need the stacked TVs so I don't have to choose between reruns of Saved by the Bell and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

It's got a Generac, so you might wanna bump that to 40% over asking.
