I'm a fan of Fermob for outdoor furniture and use it (not the below collection, though) at our house. Super low maintenance, very durable, and tons of interesting colors to combine. Very nice indeed — although I prefer the Hiroshima chair to the armrest version of these Foster chairs. The two versions without armrests are perfectly formed.

The Hiroshima is indeed beautiful, but you would never mix Hiroshima and F+P, so this OVO collection is super also in that sense. Every single piece, including the tables, benches, etc., is really fine. It is rare and refreshing to see a clear vision carried through a multi-piece collection so rigorously.

@sugarbutch if the Hay stuff is of interest, they now have a store on 4th Street in Berkeley. Walked by it today.

I was interested, but Mrs. Butch was not. The current focus is the Cache sofa from BluDot, but they are open by appointment only and don't seem to be interested in responding to inquiries. Neither of us is prepared to drop that kind of coin without actually seeing it and sitting on it.

You all with String Shelving did you just order it from Design Within Reach? It doesn't appear they have many US retailers.

I'm wondering if DWR ever adds the shelving to one of their sales.

I asked DWR to order stuff, like cabinets, that it didn’t sell. When I did it, DWR didn’t have a system set-up to take orders like that. But I gave them a configuration and list of items from the String web site, and DWR ordered it for me. Worked well. Maybe they’re better set-up to do it now.

A+R in Los Angeles also sells String, if you prefer a smaller shop. DWR had a discount at the time, which is why I used them, but A+R is a good shop

Ordered ours before DWR carried it and got both systems from A+R which are infinitely better service than DWR.

I think if you have a friendly rep there they will give a small discount (they did for us) but I haven't seen in regular seasonal promotions or anything like that.

Any suggestions for portable/rechargeable outdoor lamps? I came across these two options below but would welcome other suggestions. Hoping to stay under $125. I don't need more light than would cover a 2-person patio dining set.

1. URI Portable Table Lamp | MoMA Design Store: I appreciate the handles, seems like it can give off decent lighting. Very reasonable price at $50

2. HAY PC Portable Lamp | MoMA Design Store: No handles but still portable size. The amount of lighting appears to depend on the color I select. Top of my preferred price at $95
