Does anybody use those folding rulers like he has in his back pocket anymore? Seems completely pointless when there are tape measures with 15'+ standouts.
As an electrician, yes, though I don’t keep it on me. I have a tape measure at all times, and a folding ruler in my (not $3000) toolbox for conduit bending.

vase with the memphis vibes , where do folks stand on veneer here ?

I stand by the mafoonian principle that veneer should be highly figured (I am not strict on this rule, just that it this is the ideal). Obviously the table passes on that score.

However, that tables veneer is a little odd since its not uniform, but I actually think its for a good reason: it's less jarring perhaps when you're spinning the table around to pass food.

A lazy susan is great for certain kinds of cuisine and culinary tradition. So, all-in-all, I could live with that venner in that context for the sake of dim sum luncheons and taco night.

Thinking of cleaning those floors makes me . Otherwise the house looks cozy with great lighting.

What's going on inside that shade? Is the light bulb aimed down into the smaller opaque bowl, and the upper shade catches/reflects the light back down? Pleasant harmony with the table base.

Do you ever set a homemade apple pie upon that windowsill to cool, only to discover later that it's been swiped by some neighborhood troublemakers?

Only the BFG swipes our pies cause it’s a few floors up

Yes the light bounces up first, then down

Love the house. It does feel very much like a time capsule though. Except for the oven range, there is no hint that this is happening in this decade

It actually looks nostalgic even for its time - it's more like British 1950s-60s modernism, like Bonnington's Ferrum House. And I like it that way.

Is that the rove version of the tulip? I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on their 64" oval. The only other option I can find that looks to be good quality and not stupid expensive is the France & Son with white quartz.

Yes that's the Rove version. I just checked and theirs is actually 44", not 42"
