Is there a structural beam you could hang a glider from?

A rug would definitely be nice there. Maybe a couple of rolling planter boxes with shrubs along the shared bit for some privacy?

Some lighting shooting up at the shrubs in front could be attractive.

Rug, some chairs, perhaps a hammock..

you might plant some herbs you like to cook with if conditions are good. we had some basil and some tarragon grow so tall in waist height planters on our patio they could easily have pulled double duty as privacy screens if desired. plus, free herbs!

Lol thanks the plug is on my neighbors part. I have lived here for over a year and yet they have not moved onto the patio so I could take it. (They do not use the front entrance). Sadly my outlets are Two prong on outdoors side. I had to implement it as it gave us (all outlets were two prong) no plugs in the house living space

Since it is raised above street I am going to use a rug. def. Like that recommendation

Just bought a house with a very similar set up as your @Desi. We have a backyard, but it doesn't have a covered area, so we're planning on using the front porch for a lot of that.

We want to put in a nice 4 person table/chair set up with folding chairs, outdoor rug, a few raised beds on wheels, string lights, and possibly if we have room in our budget: some soft mesh to cover up the open spaces to save us from at least some of the mosquitoes.

Just bought a place. Any advice on what I can do with the kitchen without replacing the cabinets? Wanted to brighten it up a bit, and I like the green kitchen cabinets trend I've been seeing lately, but not sure it would work with the existing cabinets?

I see nothing majorly wrong with that kitchen. It's plenty bright to me.

I might replace the range with a slide-in (as long as the backsplash tile will allow it). I think you would regret trying to modify those cabinets in the long run.

If you just bought, you should live in the house for a while and resist the urge to make purely cosmetic changes until you're sure about them.

Also, you can replace cabinet doors without replacing the cabinets themselves (if you wanted to go that direction)

(On second thought, that seems like it wouldn’t work well here with the frames)

God, I wish I had photos of all the old non boxxed, non GCFI, outdoor micky mouse outlets the old owners put in.

I took them all out. They loved to put them near hose bibs and irrigation valves.

Green cabinet trend? That sounds like it will last for all of a year or two.
