Pardon my forwardness, but how is it that you New Mexicans have so much money? Last time I was there, everybody getting around in high-end German sports cars ($100k+) or hot air balloons. Now I'm to believe that you people are buying rusted metal objects for over $2k, and Nakashima furniture for extortionist prices (this is invariably what 'price available upon request' means). I like the rug you got from there, but those prices are completely nuts by any standard anywhere in the world.

New Mexican's don't have much money. In fact there is significant poverty and a lack of essential social services in many areas of the state. However, there are pockets of wealth. The big oil and gas money from surrounding states has always loved Santa Fe and Taos. (If you live in hot, humid Texas in the summer, you'll love having your second home in the cooler, dry, high desert). It has a long history of attracting creative and out-door types and then the wealthy followed. (This is now the third largest art market in the entire USA). It's ideal for people who have the option and want to get-away from major urban areas and enjoy the beauty, history and multi-ethnic culture of this unique part of the country.

What do you all do with your front patios (if you have one). I have a "gated" patio outdoor space on the other side of some french doors. The yard in front of the patio is covered with bush and plants so gives a nice view of the street instead of plain grass. I do not have a back deck yet because of cost so most of my entertaining with small groups of friends will be on the patio and into the living room, it is connected to.

The only thing I have on there at the moment is two regular ole folding chairs. Size is about 11x 8 stone with an iron-wrought fence. I want to get about 2-3 of the Ikea BROMMÖ but due to stock, I have to find a proxy of some kind. Also thinking of painting the fence (and door) orange to replace the old worn green color. An art friend recommended Benjamin Moore Party Peach but I was thinking of going full Tangerine Melt

we have small bluestone “porch”. No fence.There are two chairs and a small table on it. I dont believe i have ever sat in either.
