I haven't used Craig's List since 2005 so I wouldn't know ! (people still use it?)

I still tend to have better luck selling on Craigslist than the modern alternatives...

Although I've had a few things sell on facebook marketplace and there is some value to being able to see a real profile for your potential buyers (and centralizing the communication rather than dealing with those anonymized emails is nice).

No direct experience myself. Just one of the rare furniture companies out there doing solid wood furniture at affordable prices. They started with 1 product five years ago (the founder was even posting on reddit in the furniture forums to discuss how they designed, sourced, etc...) and have been slowly adding. I like those startups a lot more than the super slick, heavily-funded all-marketing companies that pop up once in a while.

Any suggestions on a sideboard/credenza at "reasonable" prices? I like the item below but would prefer to spend at most half what DWR (or Room & Board) is asking. I haven't been all that interested in what I have seen on the other furniture sites (cb2, westelm, crate and barrel). Overstock has been a ton cheaper but curious if there are other companies I have not thought about.

Looking for an alternative to this West Elm console for my entryway. Criteria: must be open on the bottom (will be in front of an air return); must have drawers; <36" wide. I'd prefer something slightly more contemporary; basically this exact form with different styling. This is the only thing I've found that will work so far.

Update, I saw the Pyramid table comes in 75" and 98.5" width as well so I may go with the 75". My main issue with the Artifox is that it's only 52" wide so with a 38" monitor and laptop on the side it won't be wide enough as I'm pushing it already with a 60". The Artifox table is nice but at $2300 vs $1100 for the Pyramid it's really hard to justify.

Thanks, Greg. Met with realtors last week and will probably go with a friend at Christies. We have a few things to finish - stairs carpet, upgrading somfy, etc. and are looking at late March.

I'll admit I'm having second thoughts. Since we were at the cabin for 9 months last year, it really feels like coming back to a new apt. But then again, for the very right price, I'd sell it furnished with art. (In case any SF ballers are reading.)

Of course, that would mean being "homeless" for the winter, so we'd have to rent/find something warm. Had a nice conversation with @Gus the other day about Santa Fe. (It seems I just can't get away from the initials S and F!)

NYC is a young person's game. And as I only have a few good years left, it's time to explore somewhere else.

I also want to live a very different aesthetic life. A little more austere with a nod to brutalism. Concrete and steel and glass in nature.

Frankly, I hate change so it's going to be a challenge but I think I'll get there.
