There was an episode of grand designs where an elderly couple built a Huf House and had a pair of Eames Lounge in the living room.

I believe I happened to pass by a television while this episode was on. Looked like the house was in upstate NY? Looked awful. The chairs were the only seating in a very large room. To my mind, I'd go with theater seating before I'd go with multiple eames recliners.

Yes, and this episode was a long time ago (I was still living in the UK at the time). Here's a clip from a revisit, in which you can see the house and the twin Eames chairs, a year after the build (2003):

1:41 is the money shot. Not nearly as horrible as one would imagine, but not great.

It's weird that they had the house custom built, knew they were going to use those sofas, and then didn't provide a proper amount of space for them. I'd get it if they were working with what they found, but they had the house built for them. See 2:15.

I've always been a fan of the Paulistano chairs.

I like the look, however, I've found that most chairs with leather seats hung from tubing create a "U" shaped spot for your butt that holds you firmly in place rather than an easy, comfortable pivot. In a living area I want the ability to have more flexible movement, sliding in and out of a chair and pivoting from side to side. So something more along the lines of a Barcelona chair rather than a Wassily, or Corbusier LC2 (although I very much love the look of the classic LC2). I don't apply this functional standard to all chairs in my home. Only the ones in the more active, social living areas.

If you like the look of the lc2, but also like to move around. That’s what the lc3 is for.

I think that is actually the sofa version (with those removable armrests). They make a swivel version and a non-swivel one
