And then there’s this little fuck.

Why does this thread attract so much human garbage?
London dispersion forces is the short answer. Like attracts like, bud, and you are the source.

And I thought you were an asshole in the watch thread. Is imatlas a "dumb fuck" as well as a "little fuck" and "human garbage"? What’s worse on the scale of TheFoo’s insults? They are myriad.

My first time venturing out of the watch thread in years and I am not surprised to see your bombast is even more extreme elsewhere.

Keep on keeping on TheFoo. By the way, does your license plate say "JUM-BO11"? Surely you don't have vanity plates on that monstrosity.

OK, there's enough shit flying around already but ... my wife needs a new home office chair as facilities management has reclaimed the loaner Aeron now that the former office is reopening.

Anyone know where I can get a deal on a Steelcase Leap?

You will want the Leap v2. Keep an eye on Wirecutter Deals. They usually catch any good deals and post them.

Are you open to refurbished? If so BTOD sells them with an included warranty. I did some research recently and they seem to have the most extensive refurbished process going.

I bought mine at a local office reseller for less and have been happy with it.

I'm just a tasteless schlub of no pedigree who lives in a hovel and enjoys taking occasional potshots at pretentious pricks and their pottery. I mean, triggering that kind of sputtering outrage is worth the price of admission.

(TBH his pottery is his best feature, though I'm with Venessian that putting that pot with that bowl and that bear skull produced a failed composition, if we're actually going to have a discussion about aesthetics and suchlike)

I’ve never mentioned anything about “pedigree”. If you are sensitive about your own, as it seems many others are, it is your issue not mine.

Dear lord. This again? Do you think I skate with those boards or race with that watch? Have I ever claimed to? When I used the word “authenticity,” it was obviously tonge-in-cheek, self-deprecating irony.

No one likes being challenged over their intelligence, but it really does reduce to “you or me” on that front when I’m being accused of such nonsensical buffoonery in every comment I make.

Just bought this copper tea boat from a studio
in Jingdezhen. The Song dish I showed earlier is to hold the teapot. This would be for the tea cups, where there is even more water spillage.

Some of you might remember I had SkinnyGoomba build me a wooden tea tray last year, which was intended to hold both the teapot and tea cups. It followed a traditional design, but we had some technical difficulties getting the box to work right with the volatile moisture levels, so we’ve moved on to other ideas.

Since then, I’ve switched to what they call a “dry brewing” method, where there is less water spillage and you need a different receptacle for each vessel used. Hence, the antique dish and the below tea boat.

The tea boat is a very traditional Chaozhou design, like something one might have seen a couple hundred years ago, but is a modern make. Older ones were usually made of tin or pewter, not copper.

I’ve turned to the hyper traditional as more modern designs in this niche tend to be low quality in make.

Quick question - I see two teapots in the first photo - is the larger one just keeping water hot and the smaller for the tea to steep for each pour?

The vessel in the front is a teapot. The one in the background is a water kettle on a charcoal stove.

Yes, you keep the water on boil so it is ready for each successive steap. That said, most people (including myself), use electric kettles. Far more precise and convenient. Though, the hardcore believe the traditional clay kettle appreciably improves the water.
