The pasta bowl thing has kept me from pulling the trigger.

I have a few of these "Pasta Plowls" from Syme Pottery and I love them for pasta. About 9" in diameter and almost 2" tall.

Not a motif you'd want to make a full set out of, but I look the look of her 6" medium bowl as well.

I dig those. They'd be great for light sauces like cacio e pepe, carbonara, alio/olio, etc. I like the earthier stuff, too. Especially the jars.

I'm a pleb so I'll probably go with C&B or West Elm/Pottery Barn for everyday stuff, then supplement with smaller quantities (4-6) of nicer stoneware for dinner parties. Purchases like this are on hold until we buy a house, though.

If I could go back and do it again I'd register for handmade stoneware instead of china. Didn't even want to register for china but my family basically insisted since apparently it's a thing.

Very nice. We looked at these years ago but realized we don’t have the right space for them. They need enough space between and around to look good. In the pic above, for example, the fit is too tight. These are pieces to put in the middle of a room, not against a wall.

@TheFoo is your Knoll sofa the regular one or the relaxed? Wondering what the comfort level is like for everyday use (TV watching, lounging, etc.) since it's on my shortlist.

Recently purchased the IC Floor Lamp from Flos based on recommendations in this thread and couldn't be happier. It's the smaller size in brass but provides plenty of needed light in my living room. It's well built and the designs feels like it would fit right at home in a variety of decor. Might consider a second one for my bedroom down the line.

When we got ours in 2008, there was no option—so I assume it is “regular”. However, I have heard that since then they have downgraded on the make, switching from traditional springs to webbing. I’d look into that.

We think it is super comfortable, but I also love the non-adjustable carbon fiber racing buckets in my car. It is a very, very supportive sofa. Top notch for sitting to converse or watch TV. You don’t slump or “lounge” in it. Great for napping too.

We knew that we weren't going to use our "nice" china, we still spent hours and hours picking it out, and surprise surprise we have literally never used it. Plus we have tons of nice hand-me-down china from extended family, including plates with cool dragons on them that we used to use but my wife never liked that much.

Our everyday stuff is plain white and from Gien, and we do actually use that everyday.

But I concur - should have registered for stoneware.

Got mine on sale from TRNK New York. While not inexpensive, it's actually reasonably priced for a high-end designer floor lamp.

i like the jono panolfi for a couple reasons: one is aesthetics it looks attractive and durable and the forms are nice. the other reason is that you can buy a mixed set (either up front or over time) from a studio and it will still have a consistent vocab

IMGP6131.JPG

these are all from the same studio, here's a charger and a dinner plate and then a sandwich plate. different glazes - different kilns even - but the same potter. even if i stayed within the same 'school' of pottery - this guy has/had a network of contemporaries whose work is recognizably simpatico - i could mix 'rustic' and more refined and still have a cogent set.

my tastes run rustic haha, so i don't expect the vibe to necessarily translate.

the jono 'persimmon' glaze is very nice!
