Anyone have experience repairing bertoia diamond chair? Guy has one up on CL for a decent price, but a couple of the welds are busted. He claims it’s only cosmetic in that area and the chair is sturdy enough to use as is. Not sure if I want to invest in something I might have to put expensive repair costs into down the line.

That is a huge jump in video quality, B! Looks like the site upgrade broke the RSS. Do you still support it?

Thanks SB! My friend Tommy is quite talented, really happy with how it turned out. All I did was cut joinery and he did everything else.

I'll look into the RSS, last post that would have gone to the feed would be the Kitchen series second post, did you recieve that one?

These videos I have been posting to my main page so they wouldn't post to the feed.

I would think it difficult to repair, not the welding specifically but the finish before and after.

Ended up passing, but I think I could have lived with the couple broken welds as they were in a non conspicuous spot.

Yeah, I saw the kitchen post.

Ah, thats good. Then the Rss feed is not broken, I've just been way behind on posts. The kitchen I wanted to update once I had all the drawer fronts on, but the owner requested me to build and install a bar to prepare for a party so I've been waiting until it's together enough to be presentable.

Ended up passing, but I think I could have lived with the couple broken welds as they were in a non conspicuous spot.

I would think so, unless they're causing a loose wire or something I would think it would be something to live with rather than repair.

Hey guys, I've followed this thread intermittently for a long time, and always enjoyed SkinnyGoombas work. As such, I thought I'd follow in his footsteps and present some work of my own.

I spent 2016 and much of 2017 in Devon in the UK learning cabinet-making. The first six months were spent on set projects and a work bench, but from there on, we were free to make whatever we wanted. I made this:

It's bleached sycamore and Cocobolo, with a few small accents in Padauk (the drawer bottom and chamfered edge of the cocobolo panel). The carcass is veneered (cross banded actually, although this is somewhat difficult to see - along the top, the grain moves diagonally and meets in the center of each side). The legs are made out of solid sycamore, bandsawn out of a very large blank and then shaped by hand. The whole thing was a crazy experience and took about nine months of >full time work. I have some photos from the making process I could share if anyone is interested.

That's nice looking work. I really like the look of cocobolo wood.
