Since when are bars of any kind SF unapproved?
If it looks like one of the stand alone bars from an office in SCDP it's fine. An actual bar in your home is not SF approved. I'm fine with that, hell I love my bar, but don't want it looking stodgy.
i don't want a home bar unless i have staff.
a giant slab of marble that serves as a place to hold various bottles of liquor and glasses is ok in my book.
Two problems with that:
1) Dust. The need for staff to dust the bottles.
2) Cats. 'Nuff said.
I'm sort of in that situation right now as I have about 80-90 bottles on a credenza type table against that wall. Nothing ever knocked over yet but I don't trust that won't happen some day if they see a flying bug or something and are in hot pursuit.
Mine sits in a corner and is rather indistinguishable as a distinct bar. That empty wall is just begging for a nice looking unit built into house my stem ware in cabinets and my liquor bottles in pull out drawers. The idea is to hide all the booze.
I do want to get my hand on a nice liquor cart.
NO HOME BAR!!!!
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
Seriously? That's just silly. Piob, get your bar made and enjoy it.
I vote for a standup cabinet with doors. I have a cabinet, a tea cart and shelves and only the cabinet spares me of rewashing the glasses before use. (Unless they have been in there for a long while).
we like this sofa. might wait until we move into a bigger place.
for wine bottles
Or you could build your bar into your sofa table, like so:
Have SG build you something like this.
Seems like we're getting really close to globe-bar territory here.
The local vintage shop has a drinks globe in the window and I want it.
I not-so-secretly covet my grandmother's (brought over from Italy in the '50s), but sadly I'm outranked in the line if succession.
