That copper lamp is sweet, but $1.6k.... ouch.
I get nothing from the PH lamps.
Does anyone have any interesting bookshelves? I want to buy one, from floor to the ceiling
That's what works for me, simple, well made, good materials, good light and not interesting enough to eventually be something I detest.
I have limited space in most rooms, so that in itself eliminates most things like vintage arredoluce, bddw, and other big footprint lamps that I would otherwise like to have.
Is appreciation of that lamp the price of entry to this thread?
I have seen in the copper and I'm not feeling it, but I'm with ItsstilMatt on the PH not doing it for me boat.
It's the common criticism of internet criticism. UP chimes in to say something like Awful. or Ugly. etc with nothing else. Wholly useless commentary from an anonymous person.
At least StephenHero took the time to explain the technical reasons behind people's bad taste.
take it easy.
If you must have something in copper from PH why wouldn't you get an Artichoke?
I own zero copper things. I generally find it to be too faux-folksy for me. Like those old timey lightbulbs you see in hipster gin bars that cost $100 apiece.
The artichoke is about 10 times more exspensive.
Also, the artichoke is too substantial to hang under an 8' ceiling in my opinion. The other ph lamps are good for informal dining rooms and other places where a small hanging lamp is good.
The artichoke is good for high stairwells and large dining rooms. It's not really large in overall dimension, but it's visually heavy.
I built 3 60" x 30" wide units and hung them on a cleat. Does not look like a built in but does not lack substance.
My wife liked it enough to 'order' one for herself, which basically means that she requested I build her one and then did a pouty lip. The room should look pretty sexy when finished, I plan to leave room for an ole wanscher daybed which I've been eyeing for quite some time.
