1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Yeah, some lady in our building wanted to stay in a hotel while we were doing it. She might have been Swiss.

With all of the white, countertops, floors, cabinets, furniture, it is a little more complicated this time.

Piob, it is our shitty, I mean city, place.

We're about to have concrete floors downstairs. Still deciding on how to finish them, but I'm leaning toward diamond-polished to expose the aggregate.

Corbusier should have paid Kjaerholm for refining his design.

Kjaerholm is restricted in quantity by his heirs.

So, there is no particular production difficulty or material cost that boosts the price so high versus, say, a Barcelona daybed?

I would prefer not to minimize the genius of it's execution by agreeing to that.

Do you know the cost of bar stainless? I do, it's minimal. It's partially the handwork and treatments involved that makes something like this expensive, in and above the value of the design itself.

That's the equivalent of asking if a painting is expensive due to the cost of oil paints and canvas.

Do you really think I stumbled upon a random chair on the internet, which just only so happens to be a modern design icon, then cluelessly posted it here to ask about it? Come on. I don't need an education on not "minimizing the genius" of the chair. Versus other similarly significant pieces of modern design, it seems priced quite high. Just wondering why.
