    Still haven't figured a name/manufacture of them.

I wasn't looking at them as dining chairs, more like a lounge chair or something for the corner of my bedroom etc.

We're trying to recapture our Palto's Retreat youth. When I moved all out stuff into the new pad I realized how much wood we have. Time for more glam. Think Thin White Duke.

They do look low for eating. As does the table for that matter. Sorry, no idea who made them.

The whole dining corner is very low.

If I find one, I find one if not I'll find something else.

I already have one these in my bedroom.

So the leftette wants new bedroom furniture. I'm okay with this as the current bedroom is a mishmash of styles. She's looking at the materna from DWR. Walnut with three storage drawers on each side.

Not loving the vertical headboard or the fact that the headboard, footboard and side rails are MDF with walnut veneer. (SG reassures me in three, two one.) She also wants the matching side tables which smack of Raymour and Flanigan to me.

    Or this...

I can have this custom made in the fabric of my choice and store bodies under the slats. I do like wood though.

Find me a new bed, boys.

Most beds are hideous. I mean, they have to be somewhat boxy and heavy looking if you are going to be able to sleep on them and all. My favorite is probably the Milano bed from Zanotta. In white leather it would be bitchin'.

I don't think that is stainless. It looks like a painted cabinet that had its paint stripped off with a wire wheel or something.

Zanotta has some nice beds. Kind of like the B&B Italis tufty bed.

I've always been a high and cozy bed guy so low and sleek is a new world to me.

I have a mash studios bed. It's pretty heavy but it's solid walnut. [IMG]

It's very hard to know for sure, but it's doubtful that it was painted. It's more likely aged stainless steel that underwent a type of dye-oxide or wax treatment which may have naturally corroded its luster and then have might been treated with an acidic solution for antiquing to its more stainless finish. I know very little about metals, but there's a whole glut of treatment options that can chemically alter the finish. It also may be another alloy metal to begin with.

^My two favourites, and I like everything that Rodolfo Dordoni has designed in terms of beds.

From DWR I like the Min bed with wood headboard and the Rev bed. I don't like matchy matchy sets, they make your place look like it was all pooped out from the same store in a one and done visit. They also then make everything that does not match appear like it does not belong unless it has some element matching the set.

For side tables I would use the wall drawers from BassamFellows.

Hope you don't mind my ramble:

I built my guest bed and when I can finally convince my fiancé that we need a king size then i will build one for the master bedroom as well, it'll most likely be wood. The boxy beds and mdf offer no sex appeal to me, so it would be something with a skeletonized frame. I'm not convinced the world needs another walnut bed frame, so I would probably build it in Bubinga rosewood due to the exciting grain and availability in larger peices.

    Stephen,

To me It looks like regular steel that was corroded then given the wire wheel treatment and lacquered. Unless it is from a medical supply I have serious doubts that it is stainless.

First one okay, but too frail looking for me. Second I may consider if I can talk my wife into allowing me to keep a harem.

Rev is close though not sure why I would want casters on my bed.
