Did you check that your cushions didn’t have a little attachment to fasten to the frame?

Perhaps, but I imagine he will actually use the TV. :)

I think standing behind the sofa and the photo fisheye made it look more disproportionate. I did move it forward a few more inches and still have the fireplace in a good position I think

Yeah. No attachment.

I had to get the sofa replaced a previous time for a different issue, and I thought that because the material on the bottom of the cushions and the frame of the replacement sofa is rougher, I wouldn't have the problem with the cushions. But the material hasn't made a difference - cushions still come out.

My experience is not all sofa makers have that attachment. I believe both @gdl203 and I have sofas from Interior Define and they have that feature. It’s a nice detail.

I'd never thought of the anti-slip padding (how does the velcro tape attach to the cushions?). I guess I felt an expensive sofa shouldn't need any DIY adjustments.

So it's not worth complaining to DWR?

Short of accepting the return of the sofa, I'm not sure what DWR could do to rectify the situation.

you should be able to flip or rotate the cushions etc so i wouldn't do anything that scuffs the heck out of one side . my rug pads ( like wool rug to wood floor ) are pretty thick coarse maybe quarter inch composite basically felt . i wouldn't use that on a couch , or maybe it wouldn't change the feel ? idk ...

in my kitchen we have like a silicone mesh under the rug ( wood floor , cotton rug ) maybe that could work but i'd be worried about it napping the hell out of the fabric depending on what it is ....

you could figure out an anchoring rig i'd think those are available without like an underlayment or velcro , i haven't looked tho .

***

btw at my place my couch blew apart lol . my cats have been puking all over the upholstery and then the legs and frame gave way on the chaise section ( cats don't ask cats don't tell ) maybe time to rethink the living room

Just be aware that some rug pads can leave a permanent impression in a cushion; I've had this this happen to me.

Every time I think about new living room furniture, my kids do something to strike the thought from my mind. The latest was a bloody nose then a sneeze that covered all 3 cushion backs and bottoms along with other various items. I feel like I'll still find droplets for the next year.

Yup. I have a 2 year old. I told my wife that wooden coffee table from DWR was a bad idea.....

Same same (sorry about the bloody nose situation) between the child (8) and newish dog (1.5) we are holding off...... as much as we want new LR furniture,

We were thinking of getting the Jonas sofa from DWR:

But Greg's endorsement of Interior Define got me configuring something similar (Marlowe):

I like how you can make the cushions reversible and one long piece, at least for functionality.

But the DWR couch looks better to me. I wonder which would be more durable. Reviews of the Jonas are not great, but it seems the negative ones were from feathers poking through, and that's been addressed. Some great wool options from DWR, like beck, letterpress or molecule.

Which would you guys get, or would you recommend something else? We were also thinking of getting a curved couch, but haven't found anything we love.
