..sitting here in a heated office wearing a 2pc. SB suit out of R&T Silver Gander ( a 17/18 oz tight woven worsted). Still needed an overcoat outside and it's in the 40's. I'll bet that this is wearable well into late spring. So, what's a 3 season cloth anyway? This doesn't wear any warmer than some of my 12 oz worsteds so go figure.

Does the canvass feel the same as in your jackets done up lighter weight fabric? And do you have Bemberg or ermazine in this?

I bet the insulating properties of tight-woven worsteds is not directly proportional to weight.

My stuff is very structured anyway so I really don't notice much difference in the canvas-mebbe a little stiffer in an absolute sense but it feels the same worn. It's a bemberg lining- figured it'd be just for winter. I'm going to get a lot more mileage out of this than I previously expected.

Just so: it's not a linear porportion of warmth to weight. It really wears more like a 12 oz worsted warmth-wise.

I'm heading in the heavier weights myself on the next batch, so if we sin, we sin together.

Where are you from that you need an overcoat in the 40's?

Forgive my ignorance, but what does R&T (R&T as a fabric merchant or fabric merchant and fabric mill, of course) stand for?
