I like the look of the Converse + Cabourne ventile hi top shoe but assume that the price will be in the stratosphere (for what they are anyway) and besides I'd prefer a leather upper for fall winter use... the sole/toe cap is awesome though. So, in the interest of getting something similar and saving a few bucks - is there any particular shoe I should look at? Opinions on good alternatives? I'm liking the following and having trouble deciding between them:

These get a plus for the JP toe box and gum sole

These I really like - particularly the hiker laces and the Black sole that's a little chunkier than regular Chucks. But don't like the thinsulate lining (my feet would be sweating like a mug).

I really dig these too.. the Suede upper is cool, Moc toe, and the gum/brown sole is cool. Also, I like that the basic stitching is not traditional Chuck Taylot but is more of a traditional boot design in the stitching treatment (blucher style).

I like the red hiker lacing on these but not necessarily the white sole.

The leather looks comfy and soft on these and the slightly chunky sole is a plus.

I'm wondering what the general consensus is.. maybe I should have made this a pole. Which would you guys go with? Thanks
