I've had a few over the years and I like them when they're done well. I haven't seen any I'd wear in RTW for the past several years so I'd be more interested in the combination if I were to have them made up.

I, too, prefer them in the imaginary realm.[IMG]

Square was fixed and much smaller once I realized how ginormous it was when I took the pic.

SoCal, the white on yellow shirt is one hot number.

I like the way these look. I think the first is subtle enough. The second, I don't know why I like it but I do.

Some members of Styleforum should revise their oppinions on contrast collars...

The first one is very remarkable IMO, almost everything in there is loud...but together it looks very balanced to me.
Concerning the one with the Muggler suit I'm with texas jack...somehow that's not supposed to work (bold striped cotton suit, specs, fat tie bar, contrast collar, knitted tie[IMG] ), but it does in nice way.

I have two. One pink with contrasting collar and one with navy stripes and contrasting collar and cuffs ... both fall into the category of 'If they fit when I'm 40 I may wear them...'

Interesting tid bit for you though ... in days gone past wearing of such shirts and suspenders was only reserved for senior members of law firms and stockbrockers ie partners and cyounger men were often reproached for wearing such items...[IMG]

I have about 80, for maybe 10 years that's all I wore, except for some less formal blue shirts - for the past year I haven't worn them, just because my office is pretty casual.

I am very much torn over if I will have more shirts made with contrast collars, or not.

    SoCal-

Quick question on the buttons - you have two buttons closed on your three-button SBs. Any particular reason?

I like them but don't wear mine that often, but in my last Janzten order I did get two contrast collar shirts, one pale blue, the other pale pink with english spread two button collar based on the Turnbull shirt that I happened to be wearing.

They can look stunning, but I guess it may have been more to do with the girl in Janzten who was trying on a form-fitting white collar and cuffs and blue stripe shirt rather than the shirt...

I have 6 or so at the moment. I think they are a great shirt as long as you can pull it off. In my city during lunch strolls I have seen a handfull of others. The only issue I have is when I see them without cufflinks, if your going to be so far out of the mainstream you might aswell just finish the look.
