Conservative business attire for anti-war protests

I was thinking recently that those attending anti-war protests would be taken much more seriously if they dressed in a more professional manner. If you turned on CNN and saw people marching in Washington wearing suits and ties I think your reaction would be much different and perhaps you would even consider joining them. I know I would. The politicians would have no choice but to take notice as they would be worried that bankers and other professionals among the protesters would stop donating to their champagnes and in turn change their polices on such things as the war in Iraq. Whether or not you are against the war do you think how the protesters dress makes a difference in your opinion on the matter?

They won't be worried when people dressed as lawyers and bankers are in the cowd, they will be worried when their bankers start talking to them about the subject, and making demands.

But if you are willing to join them if they wore suits, why not join them now, wearing a suit? You might convince others to join that way.

I am not even sure if they would be more convincing when they are conservatively dressed. At the moment, you know that for every demonstrator there are 5 people sitting at home who agree with the cause, but are just not the type to walk in demonstrations.

If the demonstrators start wearing business clothes, you might get the impression that they are the whole of the supporters of the cause, not just the vocal part

To be conservative, such politicians should be in peak lapel jackets which are more appropriate for non-business purposes.

I might just go to a protest in my suit and dress shoes if I am near Washington during the next one. I personally feel that I am taken more seriously when I dress in conservative business attire no matter what the event is and in my opinion something as serious as an anti-war rally should at least be given the same consideration as a job interview as far as a participant's attire is concerned.

I'm curious. When people use the phrase "Democrat" politicians and "Democrat" party, is it a deliberate attempt to insult?
