So the first four months or so I never had a problem with the neighbor above me who is renting the unit. Except he complained about my alarm I used to wake up in the morning to someone on his phone, which I overheard. I am a reasonable person, so I stopped using the alarm and went to sleep a bad bit earlier, no big deal. Then another month in, he complains I click too much using my mouse on my computer. Okay, no big deal, I use the click less touchpad instead. Then he complains about me typing, which I obviously need to do being a University student and all. Okay, no big deal, I will just spend my days in school library. I am a very reasonable and courteous person as you can see. When ever he did not like something he would stomp everywhere, bounce something, drop something, etc. He would be so obsessed as to try to follow me around like say I would be in the bathroom making some noise like blow drying my hair, he could flush the toilet non stop, jump up and down, run the faucet and shower. He also has no job nor is he a student. Okay, I can live with all that stuff and noise, after all I grew up in a big family. Now he basically seems to be agitated over me cooking, washing my clothes, everything. And the one thing he recently did REALLY ticked me off. This morning there was dog **** on on my entry way to my place and I am absolutely sure it was his doing, but can not provide any evidence. I am seriously thinking about placing a motion camera to catch him in the act to use for any legal purposes that might arise. I am a very reasonable person as you can see, but this just pushed my button. What should I do?

Move to a condo where the person who lives a floor above you can't hear you click your mouse. Are the walls built of cards or what?

Well I am a University student in an expensive area. All the condos and apartments here are like that from what I have witnessed and heard from friends. The only ones that are not are the very expensive places that cost $3000+ a month to rent. That is not an option. Plus I purchased this place already to live in during my stay at the university. Apparently the places sell easily, so that would not be a problem to move. It is just finding an alternative place to live.

There's a line between being a good neighbor and being someone's *****. The guy above you is a twat. Too many mouse/keyboard clicks? How is that even possible for him to hear? If he wanted perfect peace and quiet throughout the day he shouldn't have moved into a condo.

edit - just read the rest of your post. Sorry to go all ITG, but that guy needs to get his ass kicked.

You're being a ***** by conceding to his irrational demands about a ******* alarm and mouseclicks. Now man up and tell the dude to **** off.

**** him, fight fire with fire...if a mouse bothers him, surely there's a lot more you can do that would make his life miserable. That and install the motion camera so if he is the one who is using his dog to **** on your doorway you can catch him in the act.

Find a way to get him evicted or move.

Next time you see his dog feed it something laced with a shitload of ex lax

Get an electric bass and stum the e string all day or play chords(lol).

It's useless to try and deal with an idiot like that by reasonable means because they are an unreasonable person.
