I've never worn shoes that weren't 'low tops' before and had to think for a minute about what to do with the laces. Is lacing them fairly high, tieing them normally, and hiding the laces behind the tongue the only thing you can really do?

I lace my shoes, then shove the remainder of the lace ends into the shoe and it's essentially a slip-on. Even though it's not tied, I've never had to touch the laces on my shoes again. They stay put

Either method will work.

Some people lace them nearly to the top, stick a small amount of lace out of the highest holes, then open the laces up in the body of the shoe, but that's way too floppy for me
