I want to set up an ad-hoc network on my laptop, connect to the internet via 3g USB card, bridge/share the connection and connect my ipad to said connection to piggyback on the laptops 3g connection.

I can set up an ad-hoc and connect no problem with the ipad. I can set up a 3g connection (through verizon, I also have access to sprint) and have both the 3g and the ad-hoc connected at the same time. I cannot however, get the connections to share/bridge, although I am pretty sure I am not doing it right.

Thoughts?

This is on an XP machine.
