Hi,

I am in the market for a new leather oxford. I really like the look and style of the new Common Projects Officers lace-up (both the low cut and the ankle boot); but i have a hard time paying that much for a pair of shoes from what I think is a relatively new shoe designer without the history of quality. I was wondering if people thought the officer's shoes are worth it for the quality? And what other makes of shoes in the same style would you suggest in the same price range? Thanks!

Looks like a two eyelet blucher, a lot of the English makers will do something similar. Try Loake, Grenson, Crockett & Jones, they should all be offering quality on par or better than CP, though less designer-ey.

Is that gold lettering stamped on the outside of the shoe?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
