I would say the training boots are similar in sizing, just maybe slightly slimmer
I've got three pairs with the vintage sole now, it isn't a problem at all.
Today: white passarella tee and washed black Geller jeans.
It looks really good with indigo and they were be the perfect shoe to let your jeans bleed all over if you're into that.
Really it just makes them a bit more casual, and gives a bit of contrast. And its really the same as those vintage Nike blazers that everyone seems to like
Yep....from my experience, don't fuck with Training boots if you have wide feet
^Thanks for the tip. Think I'm gonna have to pass since I rarely ever wear jeans these days, especially indigo. It's too bad, the shoes themselves are beautiful. Can we get a fit pic?
Number 1 for perspective, number 2 for color, haha
And while I'm at it, should I keep these boots? I'm starting to lean towards yes.
I'd prolly keep boots. I thought of buying them from you, but laces always fall off speed hooks then I have to retie them (not using the hooks looks cool but I'm too lazy to tie my shoes every time I wear them when they have a zipper!!) Also bball highs look great. Loving the look of white, high sneakers lately.
You can also get the other color in sizes 40 (I think) and 46 for $200 + shipping: http://www.thecorner.com/us/men/boots_cod44347989rw.html
Keep the boots. I finally got those distressed ones in and they're pretty awesome looking but the leather felt really thin. Is it the same for yours?
Also the training boots are pretty narrow. I had to get them widened to be comfortable. Now that they've broken in they're pretty nice. The straps are flimsy by the way, I broke one when I went bowling and put them back on drunk
bball fit looks killer making me have second thoughts argh. Officer boots look good too but would probably benefit from looser/wider hem pants (the ankle gap in your fit is just too prominent for my taste). I personally preferred the older heeled version to this creeper sole but hey, if they're useful in your wardrobe, I say keep em. What's the leather quality like btw in comparison to the sneakers?
Boots leather was unimpressive when I had em and the last was pretty average. Rest of them were kinda eh, as well. Sneaks look a lot better on you, imo.
I think the leather on those is the same as my GellerxCPs, but that's just making an assumption from pictures on the internet. Even if my RGxCPs aren't the same as yours, I am almost positive they are the same leather as the shell toes people have been complaining about.
I like it fine, but I am not really picky about softness or "quality" of leather on shoes beyond a certain point, especially when its treated to look a certain way
Anyway, these ones are really stiff
Are your training boots the first ones that came out with the really soft leather or from the following year that are really stiff? Mine were stiff, wore them for a good while but finally decided they were too tight. I had worn them out to shows and driving around and stuff and they fit okay but when I tried actually using them for a decent amount of walking and I got wicked blisters on my heels and the tops of my toes within just a few blocks. Later I tried a 41, they ended up being the softer floppy leather and they just felt goofy, too long.
They'd probably be better with looser pants, but that won't likely happen. I will survive by attempting to balance it out by wearing big coats
I like the old silhouette too, but I pretty much have that covered with the Geller collab, and I need something with a non leather sole.
As for the leather, see above, but if I had to guess I would say this is the same material as the Training boots I had. Its much stiffer than what Achilles and such are made out of.
^Yeah. I have the same black shell toes and I'd say the leather is pretty much the same. Or I at least imagine the cap toes will have a similar look in the the near future. To be honest I was initially unimpressed with how the leather and fit was on the cap toes, but after relacing and walking around with em for a bit, they shaped to look a bit nice IMO. I'm happy I ended up not selling them. I can see why it may bother some people, but I'm pretty fine with it.
BTW, the training boots were the stiffer ones.
I have an achilles low in black on its way
How do you guys rock them ? Do you baby them or should I take it to the clubs and shit ?
All white ones I beat the shit out of. My 3 year old pair are just ruined and I think they look great. They've been everywhere with me and have held up really well.
I've got a pair of black bbhall highs that look better with the black leather still shiny and nice. I might bleach the outside of the soles too.
The distressed derbies from last year look amazing beat up, since they come pre-distressed. I took them to a cobbler recently and had them shined, resoled an re-heeled and I'm surprised how nice they look for classier footwear. This probably applies to all of CPs dress shoes.
My whites are destroyed, in a bad way. Next time I get a pair, I will definitely be taking care of them (not obsessively, but definitely not wearing them to clubs and whatnot).
It's too bad they don't make the Court model anymore. I would get a pair of black low tops.
