Would a leather heel be more comfortable than a stacked wood heel? I'm thinking about how it may absorb more of the impact than a wood heel upon strike.

I'd like to tack on another question to this thread in a similar vein...

What's the difference in long term wear between wood and leather (generally speaking)? If the wood sole is stitched, can it be resoled with a leather sole?

Thanks.

are you sure the shoes you are referring to are wood? I haven't seen this on mens shoes, even those with very high heels.

This, please ignore my mentioning of wood sole. I meant to say wood heel and leather sole, but my memory failed me since my encounter with the shoes.

So can anyone else comment on comfort? I have some issues with my back right now and I'm trying to relieve it in any way possible. If wearing a shoe/boot with a leather heel absorbs more impact than a stacked wood heel, then maybe I should stick to the former. I bought the Buttero today and realized it's a stacked heel. Just got me thinking.
