Hello guys hope everyone is well,

It is my sisters wedding at the end of September, I have already purchased a suit, I would like some advice from you about combinations. (Shirt, tie, belt, shoes, pocket square etc)

Now I already have a pair of black shoes which I have included a picture of in this post, I would prefer to wear them to be cost effective, but if needs be I could buy another pair of a different colour.

400

The suit is a two piece by the way

400

Thanks in advance!

Shirt: White

Tie: Navy

Pocket Square: White Linen

Belt: Black with black shoes, brown with brown shoes (the browns do not have to match)

Shoes: Not a fan of those. I understand if you want to keep them for economic reasons, but I would get a pair of black stitch cap or punch cap oxfords (e.g. Allen Edmonds Park Avenue or Fifth Avenue) that will look better and be more appropriate for future suit wearing occasions.

Could you possibly send me a link/image for the tie that would be good for this suit and also some of the shoes which you have recommended.

Thanks for your help!

It depends on the time of day, but the tie doesn't have to be navy, which can be rather somber for a happy occasion. It could be more colorful, but the ideal color depends on complexion and is restricted somewhat by black shoes.

I think darker blue ties tend to look better with medium to light grey suits. It may just be how it appears on my monitor, but the suit seemed light enough that a darker blue tie would work well with a white shirt. In theory OP could do a wedding tie too, but I think a patterned black / white / grey tie might be a bit much with a grey POW / glen plaid / whatever that suit is (which is a bit on the festive / casual side anyway). Navy becomes a better choice the later at night the wedding is too, IMO.

Thank you guys for all your brilliant tips and advice.

After looking through a few other grey suit combinations, I think I may decide to purchase some brown shoes!

Could anyone of you please send me some recommendations that you think would look good with this suit!

Thanks again
