I just got this suit that is on the dark side of brown... at different angles, it may look more blackish than brown while at other angles, it just looks dark brown.. should I wear this with black or brown shoes.?. im thinkin if I get the brown color, it should be more of a darker brown but would this be too much of a homogenous look? Sorry if this is hard to imagine..

remmebr it's a pinstripe.!

thanks!

I'd say that black will probably not look good since there is not enough contrast - I generally don't like the dark brown/black combo; no matter if it sometimes looks black, when it looks dark brown the black shoe just won't look good.
A dark brown wouldn't be a bad choice in my view though it may a look a little monochromatic and thus boring as you already said.
So my recommendation would be a medium brown, like this one for example:

But one has to like the general idea of wearing shoes that are lighter in colour than the suit - which I obviously do.

My suggestion is for dark brown shoes. For certain shades and textures of brown, black shoes can work, too. If you are going to go lighter in color, I would go much lighter. A British tan or similar rather than the chestnut/cognac pictured above. That may not work well for conservative business environments, though.

Love black shoes with brown suits. An alternative is a mid to lighter brown, like EG Chestnut, depending on the shirt/tie combo.

Agree black shoes look good with darker shades of brown. There is an old Esquire fashion illustration on just that point.

An all-brown outfit produces too much of a UPS effect.

How about oxblood color?
It's kind of very flexible color that goes very well with brown or black or blue.

Burgundy or "cognac" is what I use with my very dark brown pinstripe suit.
