Continuing on the OPs question, do you guys not feel like a Midnight / Navy / Dark Blue blazer doesnt go with raw or dark denim?

I never wear the two together feeling that the blues will be too close. Sort of like a navy blazer and mismatched blue trousers. A bad non-denim, denim tuxedo....

It kinda pisses me off, because I dont really like black jackets (blazers/sportscoats), but I cant think what other colors to wear with dark denim...

(sorry if this is deviating from the OPs question)

I wear midnight blue blazers and navy blazers with dry/dark denim. The colors are sort of complementary IMO, esp if they haven't been washed and are shiny and have a completely different texture than wool or velvet.

I thought the point of midnight blue - and why it's acceptable for black-tie - is that it looks blacker than black at night. So just wear it at night. [IMG]

More black than black? How much more black can black be? The answer is none. None more black.

This is perhaps the most appropriate use of [IMG] ever.

[IMG] Black's not actually black, and even if it were black, it doesn't necessarily look black. Midnight blue passes for black and might not be blacker, exactly, but is a richer black than black.
