Watched this movie again yesterday in honor of Paul Newman.

Newman's look is something I think we should all consider, classic and timeless...Two basic suits, med. gray and navy, with simple solid shirts, ties, and sweaters. The clothes are well fitting and it is certainly an extremely classy look.

I can't tell if he just looks good in everything he wears, but certainly his look in Color of Money is timeless.

Anyone else?

But seriously, he will be missed. One of my all time favourite actors!

The character was dressed very much like he was 25 years earlier in the Hustler. The color of money was a great movie.

The Color of Money is fine, but it's a piece of dog crap compared to The Hustler.

+1

Not to mention Jackie G showing how a big man can look amazing. The fashion in that movie was superb as was the acting and story.

Hustler was definitely better than Color. Color is not one of PN's best, but he did a very good job in it. He always seemed to do well even if the movies weren't so good.

Seriously. Sometimes I think I should lose a little weight and I'd look better in my clothes, but then I watch The Hustler and I consider just letting it all go, piling cheeseburgers into my face, buying a couple of huge waistcoats, and making sure I can still shoot straight after a fifth of JTS Brown.

Terrific actor, classy dresser, and all-around great human being. My favorite film star, hands down, and I completely agree that his style is worthy of emulation--Lord knows I certainly try.

Adios Butch, you will be sorely missed.

Butch: What happened to the old bank? It was beautiful.
Guard: People kept robbing it.
Butch: Small price to pay for beauty.

But could you go 24 hours straight, hair still in place, no wrinkles, all three layers still on, and hair still slicked? If the answer is yes, then my friend, cheeseburger and cheesecake time.

The mystique they built around his character was amazing.

Same style, but a bit more refined, and obviously more expensive.

I also liked George Scott's style in the Hustler. Pinned club collars, soft rolled 3 button suits, slim ties.

Bit OT, but I remember watching Road to Perdition, and admiring Mr. Newman's wardrobe, and this was pre-SF for me.

Mr. Newman and Daniel Craig might be one of the most stylish father and son tandem on screen ever.
