On the heels of the previous color contest: blue, this contest will be themed on the color gray. Contestants will be judged on best use of the color gray. One can put together an outfit made up entirely of gray items, or subtly use other complementary colors, but gray should be the dominant color. The prize is $50 credit from Kent Wang. Post your outfits in this thread. Entries will be accepted until the end of the day (Eastern US Time) Sunday, 24 February. Yfyf, who won the last blue contest, will act as an impartial judge and select a number of finalists from these submissions. Then a poll will be opened to all forum members to choose the winner from said finalists. Contestants may submit multiple outfits, but the judge will select only one of those outfits for the finalist poll. Perhaps a pocket square from Kent Wang will be exactly what you need to complete your outfit for the contest. A gray or white square would work nicely: If you place your order before 18 February, you should receive your square in time for the deadline.

Can you submit more than one outfit? Or different variations of the same outfit?

You can submit as many outfits as you like, but the judge will select only one of your outfits for the finalist voting.

I'll do something new later this week, but a few choices from the archives for now...

1) Shoes are pewter museum, and the seals on the tie are grey-ish too (click tie thumbnail to enlarge).

^ Early days but surely number 2's got to get into the final!

I really like the suit in number 1 too.

It's a heavy flannel cloth with birdseye (or is it nailhead?) dark grey/light grey pattern. Suit is Polo Ralph Lauren - don't remember the model name but it's a peak lapel 3-button (I steamed it to roll to the second button), side vents and ticket pocket. Pants have some fairly deep forward pleats

Just answering questions when I can, because I am a giving kind of guy. Either that, or an insufferable Claven-esque know-it-all. No need to specify which ....
