    Really interesting article:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203846804578101281578171860.html

    Tidbits:

Texas identifies 23% with UT, 14% with A&M, 10% for Baylor, 8% Houston.
Texas Democrats go 23% with Texas, 13% a piece for Baylor and UH, and only 8% for A&M (not surprising).

They also breakdown a few states' affiliations by race (black Michiganders favor UM over MSU 64% to 21%, for example), and age - Virgina is overall 29% Va Tech, 24% UVA, but people 65 and older favor UVA 30% to 25%.

States featured are Oergon, Utah, Colorado (had no idea Air Force had such a big following), Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania (black people don't like Penn State all that much), South and North Carolina, California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia (UGA 56-5 over GTech amongs people age 18-29), and the Greatest Political Subdivision in the History of Civilization.

I'd be curious to see what the breakdown between UM, UF, and FSU was.

No wonder A&M has such an inferiority complex. Even among Republicans, their natural constituency, the school can't pull more support than UT.
