Do we have any collectors here on the forum? (and of what?).
I'd like to hear about your obsessions whatever they may be (I already have seen some posts by contributors here who definitely seem to collect clothes (!) and maybe one who seems to like records esp. of early rap music (maybe 'binge'?)). I myself don't collect anyhting in particular- or if I could be said to do so- then it'd be books of which I have thousands in my apartement and cellar but I never have considered it as collecting mainly because I usually don't buy especially rare ones or if I do so I still focus my attention on their "usefulness" (in respect to some studies) or their content; I rather like the idea of collecting itself and have even bought some (sociological, philosophical and psychological etc.) treatises about this topic- mainly focused on books again...I don't think that I'm a collector, though...but am somehow fascinated by and interested in people who are. The Brits (I'm quite anglophiliac in some respects) are esp. great experts in the field of collecting, it seems; on the other hand, there are also some ppl. who seem to amass stuff to gain prestige etc...whichever the case, I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on this topic!
