Does anyone collect passports?

I find them fascinating especially the seals and various designs of mostly now defunct governments and obscure bureaucratic offices.

Very interesting post, LK. My father and grandfather, both well traveled(international builders of railroads, bridges, dams, etc.) left behind dozens of passports from their lifetime of travel. I did glance at a few of them some time ago but it may be time to peruse them.

Tomasso, this is very interesting. The more well-travelled an individual was, then the more compelling their passports, or as the British say papers, are.

EBay is the best place to acquire them. Also similar are the luggage stickers, which have their own collecting arena, especially for the mint unused ones.

my "passport" is a booklet of 5 passports stapled together, probrably close to an inch thick - 2 israeli passports with extra pages and 3 american, one with extra pages. I find that sometimes I need to show and old visa, or a visa that hasn't expired in a passport that is full or expired, so I carry the whole bundle. stamps from >60 countries, including way to many full page stamps from 3rd world countries.
